IRVING, Texas - Tulane's MARK MANION and STEPHANIE LEDGERWOOD of Southern Miss have been named Conference USA Cross Country Athletes of the Week. Both won their respective races at the Screamin' Eagle 5K Festival in Hattiesburg, Miss. Manion clocked a time of 27:24.91 in the men's 8K race, while Ledgerwood was the first female to cross the finish line with a 5K time of 18:17.26.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
STEPHANIE LEDGERWOOD, SOUTHERN MISS / Senior / Yuma, Ariz.
Ledgerwood won the Screamin' Eagle 5K Festival with a time of 18:17.26, nearly 14 seconds ahead of the runner-up. She was among the lead group of six before breaking away around the 4K mark at the Southern Miss dedicated cross country facility. This is her first career C-USA Athlete of the Week honor and USM's first since 2007.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
MARK MANION, TULANE / Sophomore / Tampa, Fla.
Manion clocked a winning 8K time of 27:24.91 at the Screamin' Eagle 5K Festival Saturday. He he topped the field of 25 runners for his first career individual title. The sophomore helped the Green Wave to their first team title since 2004. Manion has now been Tulane's leading runner in four straight meets dating back to the 2011 season. This is his first C-USA Athlete of the Week honor and Tulane's first since 2004.
