IRVING, Texas -
Conference USA has named Tulsa's CARL STONES and TORI BOWIE of Southern Miss as this week's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week. Stone clocked the ninth-fastest time in the nation in the 3,000m steeplechase in 8:43.79 at the Mt. SAC Relays while Bowie ran the nation's eighth-best time of 11.28 in the 100-meters at the LSU Alumni Gold last weekend.

Senior, Distance, Round Rock, Texas
Stones clocked the ninth-fastest time in the nation in the 3,000m steeplechase. With a time of 8:43.79, he bettered his school record, by more than six second, and finished fifth over at last weekend's Mt. SAC Relays.

TORI BOWIE, SOUTHERN MISS
Senior, 100m, Sandhill, Miss.
Bowie career-best time of 11.28 in the 100 meters at the LSU Alumni Gold, placing third out of 17 runners. The time is the second-best in the Conference USA and eighth best time in the nation this season. This is Bowie's first Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honor. This also marks the second-straight week Southern Miss has earned this award.
