IRVING, Texas - For the first time this season, Memphis swept Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week honors. Sophomores Cyarra Wells and Darius Lynwood recorded personal best and winning performances at the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks Invitational in Cape Girardeau, Mo., last weekend to earn their first weekly honor. Wells won the weight throw with a mark of 19.39m (63-07.50) and the shot put with a toss of 14.77m (48-05.50). In both events, she recorded career-best figures. Her weight throw toss leads the league while the shot put mark ranks third. Lynwood cleared a C-USA best 2.13m (6-11.75) in the high jump. This performance broke his previous personal-best of 2.11m (6-11.00).

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
DARIUS LYNWOOD, MEMPHIS
Sophomore, Jumps, Jackson, Tenn.
Lynwood cleared a personal-best with a winning high jump mark of 2.13m (6-11.75) at the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks Invitational in Cape Girardeau, Mo. This performance broke his previous personal-best of 2.11m (6-11.00). The sophomore currently leads Conference USA in the in the event and ranks 49th overall in the NCAA. This is Lynwood's first Athlete of the Week honor.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
CYARRA WELLS, MEMPHIS
Sophomore, Throws, Louisville, Ky.
With a pair of first-place performances at the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks Invitational in Cape Girardeau, Mo., Wells has been named C-USA Female Athlete of the Week. Her mark of 19.39m (63-07.50) in the weight throw established a career and C-USA best, bettering her previous mark of 18.76m (61-06.75). Wells' throw is also ranked 33rd in the NCAA. She also took top honors in the shot put with a career-best of 14.77m (48-05.50), which ranks third in the league. This is her first Athlete of the Week accolade.
