IRVING, Texas - For the second consecutive week, Conference USA had an athlete to be named USTFCCCA Division I National Athlete of the Week. This week's award winner was Tulsa's CHRIS O'HARE, he also earns C-USA's Indoor Male Athlete of the Week accolades as he set the NCAA record in the men's mile with a time of 3:52.98 at the 106th Millrose Games in New York City. Earning her first Female Athlete of the Week award is TYSHONDA HAWKINS of East Carolina. She clocked a winning 7.48 in the 60-meter dash, just .04 seconds shy of matching her personal-best of 7.44, at the Kent Taylor Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.

O'Hare was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I Men's National Athlete of the Week Monday after he set the collegiate mile record at the 106th Millrose Games clocking a time of 3:52.98 in the prestigious Wanamaker Mile against some of the world's top athletes. O'Hare's time of 3:52.98 bettered the time of 3:54.54 set last year at the Millrose Games by BYU's Miles Batty. O'Hare's mark also is the second fastest time by a British athlete, and shattered his old personal and school record of 3:56.48. This is his first C-USA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor for the season and third of his prestigious career.

Hawkins clocked a winning 7.48 in the 60-meter dash, just .04 seconds shy of matching her personal-best of 7.44, at the Kent Taylor Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. In the preliminaries of the same event, she placed second with a qualifying time of 7.63. This is her first C-USA Track Athlete of the Week honor.
