IRVING, Texas – Middle Tennessee 800-meter athlete Eliud Rutto has earned Male C-USA Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season. Tulsa 5,000-meter athlete Rachel Baptista is honored as the Female C-USA Athlete of the Week.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
ELIUD RUTTO, MIDDLE TENNESSEE
Sophomore/800/ Eldoret, Uganda
Rutto placed second at the Hilton Garden Invitational as part of the Camel City Elite Races in Winston Salem, N.C. with a NCAA best time of 1:47.45 following track conversion. Lost to Nick Symmonds, a two-time U.S. Olympic qualifier (2008 & 2012). Rutto broke his own Middle Tennessee indoor school record with the effort.
FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
RACHEL BAPTISTA, TULSA
Bapitsta finished second in the 5,000-meter run with a C-USA season-best time of 16:27.64 at the Razorback Invitational on January 31. Her time ranks as the second-fastest in school history and the 10th fastest in the country this season.
