ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF track and field team continues to climb in the national rankings, this week rising to No. 9 in the USTFCCCA poll. The Knights are also ranked second in the South Region.
UCF is the only Conference USA team present in the rankings and is second only to Florida (No. 7) among programs in the state of Florida.
Clemson maintained its No. 1 spot and is followed by Kansas, reigning national champion Oregon, Arkansas and LSU in the top five.
The Knights bumped up one spot from the first regular season rankings last week, leapfrogging over Iowa State. Six Knights currently boast nine marks that rank among the top 20 in the NCAA in their respective events.
Coupled with the outdoor season, UCF has not fallen out of the top 25 dating to April 26, 2011. The Knights will travel next to the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational on Feb. 1-2 in Lincoln, Neb.
