AMES, Iowa - On Friday, the Tulane track & field team began competition at the Iowa State Classic with four student-athletes in action. Senior Keriann Langley finished 12th in the women's 3000-meter. The Iowa State Classic continues Saturday.

Langley turned in a 10:12 in the non-seeded 3,000-meter. Sophomore Rebecca Coady was 32nd in 10:31. In the 5,000-meter, Julia Whitrock, a redshirt freshman who transferred from Georgia, placed 16th in 18:09.

Junior Olivia Kizzee posted a 25:53 in the 200-meter dash, placing 50th in a field of 131 entrants.

On Saturday, the action resumes at 9 am, with the mile run, 800m, 400m, 60m hurdles and 60m prelims before noon. In the afternoon session, the finals for the shot put, triple jump, high jump, long jump, 600m, mile run, 5000 meter, 60m hurdles, 60m, 400m, 800m, 3000m and 4x400 relay.

Tulane will be in action next at the Conference USA championship on February 27-28 in Houston, Texas.
