Track - 6/13/2013 Track & Field Top Honors AnnouncedAfter winning a national title in the men's steeplechase, sophomore ANTONY ROTICH of UTEP has been named Conference USA Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year, as voted on by the league's head coaches. Winning the same award on the women's side for the second consecutive year was sophomore OCTAVIOUS FREEMAN of UCF. This year's Field Athlete of the Year accolades go to first-time winners in senior VANESSA JULES of Marshall and sophomore MANUEL ZIEGLER of Memphis. Track - 6/8/2013 C-USA Completes Solid NCAA ChampionshipsWith 35 points and a fifth place finish, UCF earned the best placing by a non-BCS team since 2000 (BYU, 4th place) and became the best team in Conference USA track and field history. The Knights surpassed UTEP's 2010 women's team that scored 29 points and finished seventh. Track - 6/7/2013 C-USA Picks Up First NCAA Title in...Sophomore ANTHONY ROTICH shocked the nation as he stormed out in the final lap of the men's 3,000m steeplechase and claimed Conference USA's first NCAA title of the NCAA Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Track - 6/6/2013 C-USA NCAA Track & Field ChampionshipsUCF junior AURIEYALL SCOTT and sophomore OCTAVIOUS FREEMAN as well as UTEP junior JANICE JACKSON took care of business Thursday in the women's 200-meter and 100m hurdles semifinals at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. In addition, East Carolina freshman CAMERON HUDSON earned All-America first team honors in the men's long jump.
