C-USA Postgraduate Scholars

Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarships -- 12 awards of $4,000 each

• 1. one female and one male nominee per institution
• 2. two letters of recommendation (one from a faculty member who has taught the student-athlete, preferably in his/her major; and one from a coach or athletic administrator)
• 3. student-athlete goal statement
• 4. transcript
• 5. may include student-athletes who participate in non-conference sponsored sports

[Note: Only one female and one male nominee are permitted per institution. Rounding is allowed to the third decimal point. Undergraduate GPAs must be included on the nomination form in instances when a student-athlete has enrolled in a graduate program. Complete the one page nomination form and submit with two letters of recommendation, a goal statement describing the student-athlete's career plans and a transcript and return it to the Conference office by May 1 each year. No additional materials should be included with the nomination. Recipients must enroll in a graduate program within three years of receipt of the award. Recipients may utilize the scholarship for full-time or part-time attendance.]
