FIU sweeps the Conference USA Swimming and Diving awards for the second straight week following outstanding individual showings in a dual meet vs. Florida Gulf Coast.  Stephanie Hussey earns her first Swimmer of the Week honor after earning first place finishes in three events, including twice posting the top time in a dual meet in C-USA this season.  The Diver of the Week award went to FIU senior Rebecca Quesnel, who took the 1-meter springboard program with an NCAA Zone-qualifying score of 282.35.
 
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
STEPHANIE HUSSEY, FIU, Fr., Beaconsfield, Quebec, Canada
Hussey won three of FIU’s eight event victories in a dual meet at Florida Gulf Coast last Saturday in Fort Myers, Florida. Twice, she posted the top time in a dual meet by a Conference USA swimmer this season, a 2:01.21 in the 200 Fly and a 2:03.49 in the 200 IM. Hussey’s 200 Fly time beat FGCU’s NCAA qualifier at that event last season, Christina Kaas Elmgreen.  She is the third different Panther to win Swimmer of the Week honors this season.
 
DIVER OF THE WEEK
REBECCA QUESNEL, FIU, Sr., Burlington, Ontario, Canada
Quesnel took the 1-meter springboard program with a 282.35, one of eight event winners in a dual meet at Florida Gulf Coast last Saturday. It was an NCAA Zone-qualifying score. Quesnel also finished fourth in the 3-meter program with a 275.85, her third-best score of the season. This is the second straight week that Quesnel has won the C-USA Diver of the Week honor and the third time overall this season.
