IRVING, Texas - For the second straight week, the C-USA Player of the Week award stays in Huntington, W.Va., as Marshall's Taylor McCord garners league recognition. McCord hit .667 and slugged 1.444 while leading the Herd to a perfect start in league play. In the circle, FIU's Shannon Saile posted a 4-0 record paired with 26 strikeouts, leading the Panthers to the best start in program history (22-6) and her first career C-USA Pitcher of the Week honor.

C-USA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor McCord | Marshall | Jr. | Gilbert, Arizona
McCord notched a hit and at least two RBI in all three of Marshall's conference wins this weekend. The junior also belted a pair of home runs in a 3-for-3 performance in the second game of the series. In the Sunday finale, she drove in two more runs to increase her team-leading total to 28, which is just five shy of her season total from 2016. McCord also threw out UTSA's only base stealer of the weekend and snapped the Roadrunners' 28-for-28 stolen base mark this season. In the three-game set, McCord increased her slugging percentage from .796 to .889 and her batting average rose from .407 to .444. This is the first C-USA weekly award of the junior's career.

C-USA PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Shannon Saile | FIU | Fr. | Land O'Lakes, Florida
Saile picked up victories in each of her four appearances last week. The freshman made three starts, including a one-hit shutout of Fairfield on Saturday. She is now one out away from tossing nine straight shutout innings, allowing just one hit over that span. Her 105 strikeouts in 2017 are already the most by a Panther pitcher in the last three seasons and are third-most among C-USA leaders (best among C-USA freshmen). Her opponent batting average of .169 is the second-best mark in the league. This is the first weekly award in the young freshman's career.
