IRVING, Texas – After posting the 13^th-best 100-yard breastroke time in the nation on Nov. 16, Rice junior Marie-Claire Schillinger earns C-USA Swimmer of the Week honors. FIU sophomore Brooke Bouchard broke her personal-best score in the 3-meter to earn the C-USA Diver of the Week award.
 
SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK
MARIE-CLAIRE SCHILLINGER, Rice, Jr., Orlinda, Calif.
Schillinger won a pair of individual events and posted the best two times in Conference USA this season in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke while competing in the 10-team Phill Hansel Invitational meet last weekend (held Nov. 16-Nov. 18). Schillinger won the 100-breaststroke over a starting field of 39 entries after posting a prelim time of 1:00.06 that is a new Rice record, a NCAA Provisional mark, and ranked No. 13 in the nation. The junior from Orinda, Calif., won the 200-breatstsroke over 38 entries with a new Rice record and NCAA Provisional mark of 2:10.84, the No. 25 ranked time in the country. She also swam the breaststroke leg of both of Rice’s medley relays, including the 400-MR that finished first at the meet with a C-USA leading time of 3:39.84. Schillinger also showed her versatility competing in the freestyle sprints. She finished tied for tenth overall among a starting field of 92 in the 50-yard freestyle with time of 23.50. Her leadoff split of a Rice 400-freestyle relay was a steady 51.90.

DIVER OF THE WEEK
Brooke Bouchard, FIU, So., Manitoba, Canada
Sophomore Brooke Bouchard posted a finals score and put up team points for FIU in all three diving events at the Purdue Invitational last weekend in Indiana. Bouchard set a new personal-best score with a 290.60 in the 3-meter springboard in the elite meet. That is the fourth-best score by any C-USA diver this season.
