Position Description
The Department of Athletics at East Carolina University invites applications for the position of Academic Coordinator for football. Under the direction of the Assistant Athletics Director for Student Development, the individual selected for the position will provide academic support services for assigned student-athletes.
Primary responsibilities: Provide advising and registration services for designated student-athletes. Coordinate football study hall, monitor attendance and prepare study hall reports for coaches. Monitor student academic progress through contact with faculty, meetings with the students and progress report data. Implement appropriate academic intervention strategies. Keep supervisor, coaches and athletics administrators informed as to student progress. Monitor and track for NCAA, Conference-USA and institutional eligibility. Maintain eligibility and advising files on assigned student-athletes. Coordinate the football faculty guest coach program. Meet with recruits to discuss academic services and university policies. Be available to work evenings and weekends. Maintain student confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
Required
Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least one year experience working with student-athletes at the postsecondary level. Knowledge of NCAA requirements as they pertain to initial and continuing eligibility. Must be able to work with a diverse population and within a team atmosphere.
Salary Range
$32,000 - 37,000
